1) What inspired you to go into the media industry?

I’ve always been a planner my entire life so when I was coming to the end of my undergrad, I knew I had to plan the next phase of my life. I’ve always found ads really interesting – I’m totally that person whose reading all the ads on the subway! So, I decided to enroll into a post-grad program in advertising and that’s when I discovered what media planning was all about. It really sparked my interest because strategic planning is rooted in research and insights, but there’s also so much room for creativity. It allows me to use both sides of my brain every day!  The industry is ever-changing, so I’m always learning.

2) Give us one big prediction for the media industry of the future?

AI, data and automation! There’s so much data out there for brands to create 1:1 personalized connections and we can become even more targeted in reaching the right consumer, at the right time. It’s forcing this shift from “always-on” to “right now” as people seek convenience and immediate satisfaction. At the same time, we are all becoming more aware of our privacy and we’re cautious of what we do, say and share. It’s the beginning of interesting times where brands and consumers will need to find the right balance.

3) If you could give one piece of advice to your college-senior self, what would it be?

Always set goals for yourself! No matter where you are in life, setting goals will get you where you want to be and ensure that you become the best version of yourself.

4) Last one: if you got a blank plane ticket today, where would you go – and why?

Worldwide pizza tour – first stop Italy! I’ve never been before, and as a big foodie and explorer, I know I would love everything Italy has to offer.
