Ever get an intense and insatiable craving for ice cream and don’t want the uncertainty of not being able to find it at your local grocery store? Well, Unilever has found a way to get you your favorite ice cream and let you share it too.
The brand has developed M-pulse, a new mobile social app, using a U.S proximity platform NewAer. The app is equip with technology allowing consumers to pinpoint where their friends and family are in relation to nearby Magnum ice cream retailers. The technology hopes to intrigue both consumers and marketers by allowing them to engage with their product in a whole new way.
Neil Gledhill, Magnum’s global brand director, explains: “We’re thrilled to pioneer an innovative technology such as beacons to deliver a mobile experience which can really strengthen Magnum’s promise of delivering pleasure and connect thousands of pleasure seekers in the city.” Plus, it’s delicious.
